We had an idea for Flyingabroad.co.uk after first getting into Affiliate Marketing in around 2005. Essentially, its a site which shows you which airlines fly from and to specific airports.
So, if you live in the Midlands of the UK and want to go for a weekend away, you can see what airlines fly from Birmingham and where they fly to. This saves you having to go to each individual airline's website in turn seeing where they fly to.
Within FlyingAbroad.co.uk, when you see that you can fly from, for example, Birmingham to Zurich with British Airways, you can then click to go through and buy/book a flight with Swiss.
But where Flyingabroad.co.uk differs from other flight comparison sites is that its updated regularly with new flight and route information for 25+ main European airlines, it has regularly updated news related to travel, flight offers etc - and it also has city and country guides for the main countries and cities in the UK.
FlyingAbroad is built to be highly automated with the site taking in regular updates of flight routes to update its internal database. These datafeeds aggregate data from several sources, including airline websites and other publically available sources. Editorial news is also added regulary to the website to keep it fresh.
Zijiji's technical background has enabled the site to be highly automated, and the inhouse development and business skills have kept the development costs to a minimum, whilst maximising profits.
